Beyoncé & Solange Safe of Mutated Gene After Dad's Breast Cancer Diagnosis

2014 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival - Day 2

It turns out Beyoncé and Solange can rest easy after they tested negative for the mutated BRCA2 gene linked to an increased risks of breast, ovarian, and other types of cancer.

According to TMZ, Matthew Knowles, father of the two gifted artists, told TMZ they went to get tested following the shocking news of his breast cancer diagnosis a few days ago. Knowles said they got tested immediately because early detection is high priority when it comes to cancer.

Matthew has made it known that breast cancer runs in his family, especially on his mother's side. He plans to remove his second breast in January as a proactive measure after already removing 3 lymph nodes. As of right now, he's cancer-free.
