Papa John's Founder Donates $1 Million To An HBCU After Using The N-Word

47th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards - RAM Red Carpet

Papa John’s Founder, John Schnatter is trying hard to right his wrongs.

Schnatter found himself in hot water last year when a report surfaced that he had used a racial slur during a media training conference call. He stepped down as chairman of Papa John's soon after the scandal.

In a news release, it said the gift is part of Schnatter's "commitment to having a better impact by building better communities."

Dr. Kevin Crosby, president of the school, said in a news release that, "John is making and will continue to make an important difference. His support will have a profound impact on Simmons’ capacity to serve our city, state and nation.”
