Coming off the success of spending 17 weeks at the number one spot on The Billboard Hot 100 breaking the former record held by Mariah Carey, Lil Nas X stopped by The Angie Martinez show to talk about how much Taylor Swift's music slaps and smelling Rihanna after meeting her at an awards show.
Giving Angie some insight into what life was life before the release of "Old Town Road", Lil Nas shared that the biggest change has been not sitting in the house all day. Before the fame the young star was in college going for his degree in computer science, citing that even though he dropped out of school he still might just mess around and make the next big social media network.
Speaking on the success of his hit record and EP, Lil Nas never just wanted to stick to one genre, with the success of his (Country Hip-Hop) record he knew people would expect him to just continue and make those type of songs. Calling his EP "Alternative Hip-Hop", he wanted to make sure that people knew him as an artists first and foremost and not just sticking to one particular Genre. He even went on to say he doesn't really wear his cowboy hat anymore and its more just for him to have at certain shows.
One of the highlights of Lil Nas year so far was when he said he got to meet none other than Rihanna at the BET Awards. Sharing his encounter with the singer he said, “She's beautiful and smells so good, like you went to heaven and came back to life”.
