House Passes Bill To Raise Federal Minimum Wage To $15 An Hour

About time!

29 states in the United States including Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee are currently paying minimum wage workers $7.25 an hour.

The House vote was 231- 199 with Republicans shifting gears and joining Democrats on green lighting the Raise the Wage Act.

The last minimum wage increase on a federal level was a decade ago and people were advocating for another increase.

There is no word when the wage will officially go into effect, but at least lawmakers can agree $7.25 an hour is not a livable wage.
