The extremely talented Jessie Reyez pulled up to The Angie Martinez show today after recently releasing her first single with 6lack "Imported" off of her new project! The singer who has been having quite the year since hitting the scene reflected on her 2018, in which she went on THREE totally separate tours. Explaining her growth over the course of the year she has learned how to be conservative with how she uses her voice on stage considering she has ongoing shows while being on tour, but at the same time has learned to be present in the moment while performing. On the final performance of her headlining tour Reyez also added then when she walked off stage her mother ran out to re-hype the crowd, in which at that point her father crowd surfed.
Since having such a crazy year last year Reyez has been trying to focus more on herself, using various meditation techniques the singer has found new ways to deal with her anger issues "I've been focusing on curving it and that’s why meditation helps, you can’t let other peoples stupidity mess with your peace”.
Recently Reyez linked up with Eminem for their record "Good Guy". Getting the legendary MC's attention is no easy feat. Breaking down how the two met she said that a lot of it was EM's daughters telling him how dope Reyez was and when they were both in L.A they were finally able to hop in the studio together. Expressing how shook she was to be in the studio, Reyez was worried that her work wouldn't flow as well because of how nervous she was but once they got to it, it all came to her and thats how "Good Guy" was born.
