Since this seems to be the era for remakes it is only fitting that The Friday After The Last One comes out for die hard "Friday" Fans.
Okay, that isn't actually the title. It does leave room for us to ponder on what the new film will be called now that Ice Cube has confirmed the rumors.
Recently, Ice Cube sat down with the ladies on ESPN's show The Jump hosted by Rachel Nichols, and spilled some breaking news about the production of the movie. Cube was asked about this tweet:
In which he hints to a new chapter to the Friday chronicles. He then added in his recent interview:
"Yeah, we pushing for it. We finished the script, we are getting notes from the studio and it's going back and forth, Get into pre-production and start hiring. It would be nice for this to come out on the 25th anniversary. That would be kinda...good."
So the future looks bright for a "Friday" film continuation to hit theaters next April. However, a question to pose is whether all surviving cast members will reprise their roles in the film. Chris Tucker spoke hopefully on the idea of playing "Smokey" again.
He spoke on ESPN's The Plug to say:
"I don't know. I talked to Cube about it, He told me he was working on some stuff. And if it comes together right, I'm definitely gonna look at it and see if it works. 'Cause I never say never...I definitely want to check it out.If it works, it's a possibility."
Are you here for a "Friday" movie? Can anything really compare to the originals? Let me know!
