Sending strength and prayers to Kendrick Castillo’s family 🙏🏽 Let us honor the heroes and not the killers.
Just three days away from his High School graduation, Kendrick Castillo gave his life to save his classmates. When a gunman burst through the door at Kendrick’s H.S. the 18-year-old rushed the shooter. It was his quick-thinking move that fellow students said gave them a chance to bolt for safety or take cover under desks.
Kendrick who hoped to study electrical engineering in college, rejected his dad's advice that he didn't need be a hero and had previously told his dad he wouldn't think twice about acting to save others if ever face-to-face with an armed intruder. "'You raised me this way. You raised me to be a good person. That’s what I’m doing,'" John Castillo quoted his slain son as saying.
