Wu-Tang Clan Now Has Their Own NY District!

Wu-Tang Clan, one of hip hop history's most acclaimed music groups, were given their flowers this weekend! The group includes RZA, GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa.

The legends, who come from Staten Island, have been honored with a district named after them right in the heart of the borough.

Staten Island crowned the intersection of Targee Street and Vanderbilt Avenue as the Wu-Tang District. Wu-Tang members Ghostface Killah and Raekwon along with Wu-Tang fans came out in the rain to celebrate the new street name.

During the naming ceremony, Ghostface said a few words about what an honor it is to have a district named after his crew.

"First of all, people don't get to make it 25 years later. To come from Staten Island, I wanna tell y'all anything is possible. I never saw this day coming. I knew that we were some ill MCs, but I didn't know it would take it this far."

This is not the only way the famous group is being recognized this year! The story of the Wu-Tang legacy can be watched through their four part Showtime docu-series entitled "Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men. The doc promises to give exclusive interviews with the surviving members of Wu along with never seen footage of the crew in the back back days. The premiere of the series is set for May 10th.

It is amazing to see hip hop moguls like these being paid their respects while most of them are still living and able to celebrate it humbly.
