R.Kelly lost a sexual abuse case after failing to appear in court and claims that the reason for his absence was because he was 'overwhelmed'.

According to TMZ, R.Kelly was set to appear at the Cook County Circuit Court in Chicago for allegations of sexual abuse brought against him by Heather Williams. The now 36 year old woman claims that the singer repeatedly forced her to have sex with him while she was only 16 years old.

Back in February, Heather served R.Kelly with legal documents while he was in custody for failing to pay child support. R.Kelly's attorney, Robert Nix claims that this caused him to become 'overwhelmed' with all of the allegations that are currently being brought against him.

Nix claimed, "R.Kelly was served while incarcerated on the child support case and he was overwhelmed by the experience of being in jail."

After R.Kelly failed to appear in court Williams won the case by default, though Kelly's attorney is now trying to get the ruling overturned.

Do you guys think his attorney has a chance of getting the ruling overturned?
