14-Year-Old Girl And Her 12-Year-Old Sister Stabbed And Shot Their Mother

Amariyona Hall

A pair of sisters was arrested after police said they stabbed and shot their mother in their Mississippi home. Police plan to charge the older girl, 14-year-old Amariyona Hall, as an adult, while her 12-year-old sister will face charges as a juvenile.

When officers arrived at the home just after 11:30 p.m. on Friday (January 4) night, they found 32-year-old Erica Hall covered in blood near her car. She was rushed to the hospital with multiple stab wounds in her back and torso and a gunshot wound to her chest, but doctors were unable to save her.

“She was stabbed in the back,” Hall’s aunt, Robin Coney, told WLBT. “The knife was still in her back.”

Pike County Sheriff Kenny Cotton told the McComb Enterprise-Journal that this was not the first incident between Hall and her daughters. She had disciplined them earlier in the week after they tried to run her over with the family car. Cotton said that Hall should have called the police instead of just taking away her daughters' cell phones.

“With something like that, she should have made charges and had them arrested then,” he said.

Amariyona is currently being held in Pike County Jail on a $150,000 bond while her younger sister is being held at the Adams County Detention Center where she is awaiting a juvenile hearing.
