Set to take place October 16, 2018, the annual BET Hip Hop Awards is sure to celebrate some of the hottest hip hop artists, new albums, best producers, and much more. With hip-hop ever changing, and always on the map, we are excited to dive into some of the hottest artists set to perform and top nominees said to take home the win.
Performances at this year’s BET Hip Hop awards includes artistsT.I., Yo Gotti, Cardi B, Ball Greezy, Pardison Fontaine, Flip Dinero, Lil Duval, Lil Pump, Lil Baby, YG, Gucci Mane, and ASAP Rocky.
With categories like “Best New Hip-Hop Artist,” “Lyricists of the Year”, and “Album of the Year,” it is no doubt that we are seeing some of the biggest stars today nominated.
Nominees for “Best New Hip-Hop Artist” are artists Blocboy JB, Juice World, Lil Baby, Rich the Kid, and XXXtentacion. Nominees for “Lyricists of the Year” are artists Childish Gambino, Drake, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Travis Scott. Nominated for “Album of the Year” include Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy, Drake’s Scorpion, J. Cole’s KOD, The Migo’s Culture, and The Carter’s Everything is Love.
Shifting focus to the ‘behind the scenes’ masterminds, some other great nominees nominated for “Producer of the Year,” are Ben Billions, DJ Esco, DJ Mustard, Metro Boomin, and Pharrell Williams. Nominees nominated for “Best Hip Hop Site of the Year” include All Hip Hop, Complex, Hot New Hip Hop, Worldstar, and XXL.
One of the most anticipated awards given away each year at the BET Hip Hop Awards is the “I am Hip Hop” Award. This year’s recipient is none other than the goat himself, Lil Wayne. With the recent release of his “Carter V” album, Lil Wayne continues to break ceilings each and every year.
