Star of "Being Mary Jane" and the new movie "Breaking In" which is in theaters this weekend Gabrielle Union stopped by The Angie Martinez show to talk The Met Gala, her feud with Jada Pinkett Smith + more!
Fresh off the Met Gala festivities Gabby broke down everything that happened at the huge event saying it was an amazing time as she got to meet actors and actresses that she has been a fan of for awhile such as "Get Out" star Daniel Kaluuya, "Star Wars" own John Boyega, and even got to meet Idris' Elba's new fiance. The Met Gala also took place after Donald Glover's explosive weekend premiering two new songs on Saturday Night Live, as well as releasing a music video for "This Is America" which has been the talk of the internet all week. The actor/rapper/comedian was also in attendance at the Gala and when Union saw his she said: “I had to watch it 10 times to catch everything and I needed a minute to sit with it”.
Another story about Gabrielle Union that has come out recently was that she and Jada Pinkett Smith have been in a feud for over 17 years! Speaking on it she said that there wasn't really a lot there and the two had just created a "slite", and then 17 years went by without them speaking about it even as their husbands were friends and would hang out often. Union also says that Jada was the first one to reach out and they worked it out, in the end, they realized it was all a made up situation they created in their heads when they were young and there really was never any problem there.
Her new movie "Breaking In" is about a mother saving her kids from robbers, the movie was produced by Will Packer and on her character in the movie "Oh she is a badass". The movie is out in theaters now just in time for Mothers day and is family friendly with a PG-13 rating.
Before heading out you know Angie had to find out when we will be getting a conclusion to Union's extremely popular series "Being Mary Jane". She confirmed that the two-hour finale movie has already been filmed and now BET is just waiting to release it. When asked about a release date for it Union said she doesn't know when it's going to be released but if you're a fan of the show to let BET know to release it ASAP!
