Da Brat & Angie Martinez Hold Draft Picks For 2018 ‘Ladies Night’

Da Brat is currently starring in a stage play version of the classic 90s movie "Set It Off" originally directed by "Friday" director F Gary Grey. The film starred Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox and Kimberly Elise, playing four friends who decided to rob a bank. The stage play which has been touring since early April according to Da Brat has been selling out shows everywhere. In the play, Da Brat stars as Cleopatra “CLEO” Sims the role which was held by none other than Queen Latifah in the movie. During her conversation with Angie Martinez, she revealed that she hadn't spoken to Latifah about the role but had messaged her around the time of her mothers passing and hopes that she will come to the play when it comes to Los Angeles. On her representation of Latifah's character she had to say this "I think I'm very close to how she played it, but I'm like the 2018 version".


Da Brat and Angie go way back as they were both on "Ladies Night"   along with Lil Kim, Left Eye, and Missy ElliotTalking about the record and its legacy Angie revealed that someone had asked about who would she put on a modern version of the song. She responded by saying Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Young M.A, Remy Ma, and Melly. Da Brat said that instead of Melly for the wild card she would have put Dej Loaf. Ending the conversation the two ladies made it very clear saying "Ladies Night is Ours Forever"!!!
