March for Our Lives is less than a few hours away from commencing in Washington D.C. and the star-studded support for the movement is immense. Even though more than 800 cities around the world will push for the campaign, the big affair will take place just a few blocks away from the nation's Capitol.
While Hollywood titans like George and Amal Clooney, Jimmy Fallon, and Cher will march during the demonstration, the music side of things is jam-packed as artists of all genres have confirmed their attendance to perform. Among the names include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ariana Grande, Vic Mensa, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Common, Ben Platt, Andra Day, and Demi Lovato.
Over in Los Angeles, a west coast demonstration is scheduled with Amy Schumer set to speak at the event. Among the other stars announced to join her include Olivia Wilde, Yara Shahidi, Connie Britton, Skai Jackson, Meg Donnelly, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Cappie Pondexter, Jacob Sartorius, Trevor Hall, Mason Cook, Bret Lockett, and more.
March for Our Lives started as a response to the February mass shooting that took 17 lives at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland after a former student opened fire. In addition to the march, the students have created a petition asking elected officials to pass a law to ban the sale of assault weapons, prohibit the sale of high-capacity magazines and close loopholes in background checks that allow "dangerous people who shouldn't be allowed to purchase firearms to slip through the cracks."
