Migos & QC Cover Complex Magazine, Talk Split From 300 Entertainment

On Monday (February 26th) Complex Magazine made the announcement that they're latest cover story will be based around Music Label Quality Control. The Label's leadership COO Kevin “Coach K” Lee and CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas are front and center on the cover with their most popular artists none other than Migos and Lil Yachty.

The label was founded back in 2013 by Pierre Thomas and since then they have risen to the top with their artists. Migos themselves are now Grammy nominated artists in the categories for "Best Rap Album" and "Best Rap Performance".  Although not taking home any Grammy's this year, one cannot deny going up against Powerhouse artists such as Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar is no easy task.

Migos is also fresh off their "Culture 2" album debut earning over 1 BILLION streams in 20 days after the album initials debut. The project also has garnished huge features from none other than Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane, 21 Savage + more!

In the cover story for Complex Migos detail their split with "300 Entertainment". Back in 2014 Migos and 300 Entertainment had worked out a distribution deal as the leaders of Quality Control felt that deal could take the label and artists in the right direction. Unfortunately, that was not the case, Pee and Offset give their own accounts of what happened with 300 and why they felt the company was holding them back.

On the situation, Offset had to say: "300 was the biggest hurdle. They tried to hold us against our will. It wasn't never no in-house hurdles we ever had, like where it had been a problem. With 300, that was the biggest thing, going through times and situations with them. And we still did them right. Left them a nice piece of work."

CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas followed Offsets statement saying: "("Look At My Dab") was one of the biggest songs of that year. We had the athletes doing it. You had the kids, everybody was doing it. But you ain't see it on iTunes, you see what I'm saying? We couldn't sell it. We couldn't stream it, because we was in a battle. We got a company saying, 'Y'all can't put no music out. We ain't letting y'all sell nothing.'”

All of this led to QC not only spending half a million to get out of the deal but also leaking the now 4X Platinum "Bad and Boujee" which would become a cultural phenomenon and the trio's biggest record to date.
