Obama Portraits Unveiled At Smithsonian

On Monday with the honorees in attendance, the portraits of President Barack Obama and Mrs. Michelle Obama we're unveiled at the Smithsonian Museum.

The presidential portraits which will be displayed at the Smithsonian Museum, were done by the first black artists to ever be commissioned for official portraits by the Smithsonian.

Kehinde Wiley nailed his Barack portrait serving up some absolutely stunning work and Amy Sherald delivered with a beautiful rendition of Michelle.

The museum collects multiple images of the presidents and first ladies but also commissions a set of portraits. The White House has the other collection of presidential portraits.

Check out the portraits below and let us know what you think.

Excuse me for a moment while I celebrate the official portraits of our first black President and first black First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama painted by the first black artists to ever be commissioned for official portraits by the Smithsonian. Tears are streaming thinking of little brown and black boys and girls who will go visit the Smithsonian and see themselves in these two COLORFUL, beautiful portraits. Honor of my life to have served you. Y’all are so damn special. #obamaportraits
