Tallest building in Lynchburg, Liberty's Freedom Tower, open to the public

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Liberty University had a big day on campus Monday as it opened its Freedom Tower for the first time.

At 275 feet, it's the tallest building in Lynchburg.

According to President Jerry Falwell, Jr., the 17-story building will serve as a focal point on campus.

The $25 million project took around three years to build and President Falwell said it's not something they had before as they continue to grow the school that his father started.

If you want to get to the top, you can take the elevator, or hike up the 409 steps.
