Jay Z recently posted on Twitter, a rare occurrence for the rapper as he backed up New York's Mayor De Blasio's plan to shut down the infamous Rikers Island; a correctional facility that has been known to neglect and mistreat it's inmates.

The atrocities taken place at Rikers has sparked Hova's interest after he contributed to "The Kalief Browder Story" a six-part documentary that follows the story of Browder and his time in solitary confinement; ultimately leading to his suicide after being released.

In his post, Jay stated:

“Kalief is a prophet,” “His story will save lives . You guys watching and your compassion made this happen. Thank you."

Like Jay, and many others, the closing of Riker's Island will be a great justice within itself.
