2018 Rap Beef: Uncle Murda vs. Skillz

Rapper, Uncle Murder, also known as Lenny Grant and Rapper/ghost-writer, Skillz have kicked off 2018 with a brand new rap beef.  The two artists are both known for dropping hot tracks recapping what has happened during the year. This has been a tradition for Skillz since 2002, and Murda since 2014. Thus far the two artists have been able to co-exist, until now.

Going into 2018, the competition between the two rappers has sparked into real beef. This past Wednesday, Skillz dropped a four and a half minute track titled “Murda Gram (Uncle Murda Diss)”. The start of the track uncovers a conversation with Clark Kent, where they discuss Murda’s use of the formula for the “Rap Up”. Skillz went on to say that Murda’s yearly track only gets attention from his hometown of NYC and “never gets past Jersey”.

He then shoutouts a bunch of Brooklyn rappers that he considers to be better than Uncle Murda. After the release of his track, Skillz tweeted:

The cover art for Skillz yearly “Rap Up” is a direct message conversation between the two artists. “You the PG version, I’m the rated R version I didn’t mean to take ya shit it just happened but my shit be way better than ya shit you fell off my G,” says Uncle Murda. Rapper Skillz replies, “Who is this?”
