Judge Denies Tekashi 6ix9ine's Request To Serve Prison Sentence at Home

Looks like Tekashi 6ix9ine will remain in prison for the rest of his sentence. While we previously reported that Tekashi had requested to serve the rest of his time in prison at home because he believes his life could be in danger staying behind bars it looks as if his plea to the judge didn't work. Yesterday (January 21st) Judge Paul Engelmayer denied Tekashi's request.

In a statement released by the court they expressed that letting Tekashi serve his sentence from home would be counter intuitive:

"The Court’s determination was, and is, that a 24-month prison sentence is necessary in this case," Engelmayer wrote. Approving Hernandez's request would mean that his sentence would no longer "reflect the seriousness of his crimes."

Tekashi's sentence is expected to be over by the end of this year.
