Jay-Z Reopens Webster Hall With Epic B-Sides 2 Concert

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Backstage & Audience

The last time Webster Hall opened its doors for a rap concert was August 2017, when Action Bronson took stage with his "End of an Era" concert as fans sadly counted down the closing minutes of one of New York’s renowned venues. After going through several renovations over the last two years, this past Friday (April 26), Webster Hall reopened for Jay-Z’s B-Sides 2 concert.

In 2015, Terminal 5 was home to Hov’s first B-Sides concert, where he reunited with his Roc-A-Fella team, which included Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, Freeway and the Young Gunz for a stirring rendition of "You, Me and Her" and "What We Do."

Four years later with DJ Clark Kent on the 1’s and 2’s, fans bonded over their top Jay-Z B-side records.

“I’ve known him for 30 years, and this might be the most ignorant my boy gets,” DJ Clark Kent said with a smile. “And you all get to see it firsthand.”

Jay emerged at around 10:30 p.m., elegant in a black tuxedo, bowtie, and diamond necklace dangling from his collar.

Nas emerged to deliver his verse which featured the first of two starry cameos asthe pair quickly jumped back more than two decades to what is often considered the foundation of their beef, as Nas’ “The World Is Yours” blended into Jay-Z’s “Dead Presidents II.”

Cam’ron was the next appearance, who performed “Welcome to New York City,” and Jim Jones, who joined for the Dipset standard “I Really Mean It.”

Cam ain’t my enemy. Nas ain’t my enemy. They’re my brothers. - Jay-Z said.

Epic Night !
