Newark Mayor Ras Baraka Is Ready For 4 More Years

The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, stopped by The Angie Martinez Show to discuss his plans to win a second term in office when the elections go down tomorrow in New Jersey.

While in the studio he discussed how different it is now to run for Mayor after putting in a full four years as Mayor, all the work still left to be done in Newark and the things that he plans to focus on the second time around.

The two also got into the great difference in political agendas after President Barack Obama handed over the White House to Donald Trump.  "There was an urban agenda, the President had an agenda to help us" says Mayor Baraka. "He made a serious dent and a mark."

Mayor Baraka wrapped things up by discussing how our current political climate is attacking immigrants and affecting people's subsidized house and their food stamps. "You need to be creative and get help from your colleagues" he says about how he's currently helping the community.
