Amtrak needs to get it together !
Yesterday Amtrak suffered another frightening dilemma when a high speed train broke apart as it raced north toward Penn Station from Washington, DC at 125 mph, sources said.
According to the NYPost, the connector between the two trains reportedly broke and separated, leaving the two trains only connected by the air hoses.
“I looked out the window and saw a shower of sparks coming out the side of the train,” Exum said. “Pretty quickly, the train came to a halt and the Amtrak folks rushed forward. I could tell by their faces that this was serious, and that we weren’t going anywhere.”
This marks the 3rd accident of 2018, following a crash outside of Charlottesville, Virginia last week and a collision in Columbia, South Carolina.
Thankfully Amtrak officials have confirmed that all 52 passengers aboard were unharmed.
