Mexico Hit With Powerful 7.1 Earthquake - Buildings Collapse, Dozens Dead

A powerful earthquake shook central Mexico today, crumbling buildings and sending thousands of people in Mexico City fleeing into the streets screaming while running for their lives.

The U.S. Geological Survey calculated the preliminary magnitude at 7.1. The epicenter was about 93 miles southeast of Mexico City in the state of Puebla.

So far according to reports, 44 people have died as a result of this earthquake.
