Ice Cube sat down with Angie Martinez to talk about the sudden passing of Hip Hop Legend Prodigy as well as the comparisons between the Tupac Biopic "All Eyez On Me" and NWA's "Straight Outta Compton". On the topic of the biopics he says that although he has not seen 'All Eyez On Me' yet, he's no judging because “its hard to get a biopic right”.
Even though he hasn't seen the Tupac movie yet he says he worked on every little detail on the NWA movie yet still they had one slip up and how important it is that there always someone working on the movie that can make sure it makes you feel like your in the time it takes place in.
On the passing of Prodigy from Mobb Deep, who both Angie and Cube agree was rap legend, he says: “on the West coast we respected Mobb Deep a lot and felt that they were a resurgent of street music coming from New York."
Ice Cube also opened up about his conversation with Bill Maher on TV about Bill's controversial use of the N-word, why he didn't cancel his appearance because he felt like it was a "teachable moment" that other people could learn from. Check out the full interview below!
