Benny Boom: If Pac Was Here Trump Wouldn't Be Pres

Benny Boom sat down with Angie Martinez to discuss the highly anticipated "All Eyez On Me" Tupac Shakur movie which is dropping this Friday.

While in the studio Benny touched on:

  • His hopes for this movie to do better than "Straight Outta Compton" in the box office.
  • Working on a BMF feature film with L.T. Hutton aside from 50 Cent's upcoming project with Starz.
  • Different directors falling off this movie project and he eventually being brought on to produce the movie.
  • The reason why John Singleton was fired as director. "That really didn't pan out well, it didn't see eye to eye on what the movie should be" he says.
  • Being from New York and never even meeting Pac but still taking on the project and the moment he became captivated with Pac. "I never met Pac...I was always a fan but always questioned why he got in trouble so much.
  • Casting the lead actor for the movie, Demetrius Shipp, and how incredible he was doing the auditions and chemistry reads.
  • Why they don't reach out to the people being pictured in the movie like Angie and don't involve them in the casting.
  • The heavy amount of phone calls he got from people trying to give him info about Pac once news broke that he was doing the movie.
  • Making the movie from Pac's perspective and avoiding trying to solve any mysteries with the movies + how he was able to put together's Pac's perspective thanks to a "Tupac bible" which was created to make the film.
  • How Suge Knight who is currently incarcerated got to see the film and approved how he was portrayed and Diddy also approved how he was portrayed.
  • Diddy approving all music that was need from Bad Boy to be used in the movie.
  • The importance of Angie's role in the movie which happens to be her interview with Snoop Dogg which set Pac all the way off. "What you've done for us you just can't measure it...there was no other woman in radio doing that" he says about putting her in the movie.
  • Getting the call that Afeni Shakur had passed away and how much he regrets that she didn't get to see the film which was very supportive of.
  • E.D.I Mean from the Outlawz who was Pac's brother-in-law being an important person to this film and how he helped make sure Pac's mannerism were out point.
  • Pac signing Keyshia Cole when she was 14 and her video 'Play Your Cards Right' features Afeni.
  • The Angie two hour long interview with Tupac which she still has chosen to release in it's entirety and how Pac fans stay coming for her.
  • His strong belief that if Pac was alive today Donald Trump would not be in the White House and young men like Trayvon Martin would not be out here getting killed.
  • Extras in the movie actually breaking down in tears when they shot that one epic concert scene which can be seen in the trailer.
  • 'All Eyez On Me' is in theaters this Friday June 16th to commemorate what would have been Pac's 46th birthday.
