WATCH: The LOX Talk Roc Nation Deal, Politics + New Rappers

The LOX came through to chop it up with Angie Martinez about their new album 'Filthy America...It's Beautiful' which dropped this past December, politics + the yet to see happen boxing match between Soulja Boy and Chris Brown.

While in the studio they also discussed:

  • Their thoughts on President Barack Obama's final speech and which one of them still refuses to watch it.
  • All of Obama's great actions while inside the White House and which one move did not sit right with Styles P.
  • Their thoughts on Donald Trump and the one time Jadakiss was in an elevator with Trump at MSG for a basketball game.
  • Whether or not they take the time to reflect about how long they've managed to stay relevant in the rap game.
  • Being one of the only rap groups that never broke up, aside from MOP and De La Soul.
  • Whether or not they've had disagreements that they've kept to themselves throughout the years.
  • People taking their personal drama on social media and telling strangers things they don't know the ins and outs of.
  • Still allowing their fans to see that they do experience pain at times just to let them know that we are all humans.
  • Their thoughts on the Celebrity Boxing match between Soulja Boy and Chris Brown.  "It's entertaining, but it's sad that we've gotten here with our culture...they shouldn't even fight. Those are two young black millionaires" says Styles.
  • Plans to watch the Pay-Per-View fight in New York since nobody is flying all the way to Dubai. Also who they are putting their money.
  • Dubai not being the place for the Hip Hop culture to hit up due to some serious laws that apply to small things. One example being smoking weed which they say carries a penalty of 10 years. "I'm scared to death over there" says Styles P.
  • How the police treats "David Styles," the guy who sells fruits and veggies to the community at his juice bar, which he says is quite cordial.  Yet when he's out in his whip, Styles says he's terrified. "When you really think about it on a serious note you can get killed on tape and nothing will happen to the cop" he says.
  • Their upcoming 'Filthy America' tour and working on locking another "legendary" New York artist to join them on tour.
  • Who they are listening to today as far as rappers go. The list includes Don Q, Dave East, Action Bronson and Joey Badass.
  • The surprising announcement that they joined the RocNation Family for both label and management and how that decision came to be.  "It just felt so made the whole industry fell so old and antiquated...RocNation and Tidal can understand a young was really impressive" they say collectively.
  • Jada and Fabolous' project 'Freddy v. Jason' which should be dropping soon. "We gotta do three more songs" says Jada + Styles says he is currently working on a joint EP with Talib Kweli.
  • How Styles started his health kick which he attributes to his wife + much more.
