Forecasters Eyeing Possible Nor'Easter This Weekend In Tri-State Area

A nor'easter could disrupt our region this weekend, though it's too early to tell which part of the Tri-State area is in the storm's crosshairs.

As of Wednesday morning, forecasters agreed the storm is likely to impact the greater NYC-area — most specifically Long Island — though much remains to be seen as the system takes shape over the next couple of days.

Snow, heavy winds and coastal flooding are likely to arrive sometime late-Friday into Saturday.

Uncertainly remains on the exact track the storm will take. Early models indicate the storm will develop off the coast of the Carolinas, then head northeast just off the New England shore, east of Nantucket and Cape Cod.

If that ends up being case, the eastern end of Long Island and eastern Connecticut would endure a direct hit. New York City would see some snow and most of New Jersey would be spared.

Rain is possible in some areas, though temperatures throughout the Tri-State area are expected to remain below freezing through early next week.
