Brooklyn Woman Arrested After Spitting On Child In Alleged Hate Crime

A Brooklyn woman was arrested after allegedly shouting an antisemitic epithet, spitting on and threatening to kill an 8-year-old boy last Friday in the borough.

Christina Darling, 21, was charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime, endangering the welfare of a child and menacing, according to the NYPD Hate Crimes unit.

The boy was reportedly standing in front of a building on Avenue P at around noontime on Friday, January 14, with two other children when Darling walked by.

Darling reportedly said: "Hitler should have killed you all. I'll kill you and know where you live."

The boy's father, Aryah Fried, told CBS 2 that his son replied to her that he would save his little sister.

"I have to teach him not to engage. But he engaged," Fried said. "And she came running back. Spat in his face. And told him, 'We will kill you all. I know where you live. And we'll make sure to get you all next time.'"

No one was hurt in the incident, which was captured on nearby surveillance cameras. Darling's photo was soon plastered around the neighborhood by NYC Crime Stoppers and she was in police custody by this morning.

Of the arrest Fried added that he hopes Darling "understands the severity of what she did. To do it to anybody is obviously problematic but for an adult to do it to a child is beyond crazy."
