Mayor de Blasio Criticizes MTA Over Safety Survey

Mayor Bill de Blasio is upset the MTA released a survey shows a growing number of people don’t feel safe in the subway system.

He accused the agency of discouraging ridership at a time when it should be encouraging people to return to the trains. De Blasio said the NYPD has put more than 600 additional officers into the system.

The MTA survey found that 72 percent were “very concerned” about crime and harassment on their commute.

The MTA is asking for more officers to help keep the subways safe.
