Remy Ma Slammed With New Charges In Assault Case

2018 Essence Festival Presented By Coca-Cola - Louisiana Superdome - Day 2

Rapper and reality star Remy Ma is facing new charges for allegedly assaulting Love and Hip Hop: New York co-star, Brittany Taylor back in April. According to reports made by TMZ, on Friday (May 24) prosecutors on the case filed four charges against the rap star.

"Two counts of assault in the third degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, and one count of harassment in the second degree. All of the charges are misdemeanors."

Brittany accused Remy of assaulting her with a punch to the right eye whilst during a benefit concert hosted by Remy Ma's close friend Fat Joe at the Irving Plaza in NYC. Remy denied all claims, insisting she is innocent with claims of an alibi.

The current charges are in violation of Remy's parole — she was just three months shy of completing her parole after serving six years in prison.

TMZ reports Remy has been offered a deal to plead guilty to only the most serious offence — assault in the third degree — and the rest will be dropped. She’d also have to enter a long-term anger management program.

Remy has yet to accept any deals and will go in front of judge in July.
