After six years of silence, Lil' Wayne is finally ready to give the world what we've been waiting for, Tha Carter V. The highly-anticipated album has been over six years in the making, which has created a somewhat comeback scenario for Weezy.

“I’m very much a perfectionist," Wayne recently told Billboard. "I don’t know what it’s setting me up for -- some big comeback [with Carter V], or maybe some big fall back or whatever -- but it’s setting me up for something, and I’m ready."

The 35-year-old rapper also joked about up taking his protégés Drake and Nicki Minaj's spots on the charts with his new album. “They all the way -- they got it,” he said. “They know how to make them joints that y’all going to be runnin’ to." Adding with a laugh, "I’m coming straight at Drake’s and Nicki’s neck. I’m talkin’ ’bout machetes. I’ma out-sing Drake, I’ma date Nicki. It’s goin’ down.”

While Wayne did not go into detail about Tha Carter V's tracklist, Billboard revealed that on one track, which serves as the album's outro, Wayne opened up about his suicide attempt at the age of 12. “He just told me one day that he was ready to address it now,” Wayne’s longtime right-hand man Mack Maine said of the incident, during which Wayne shot himself in the chest. “Just being an adult, reaching a level of maturity and comfort where it’s like, ‘I want to talk about this because I know a lot of people out here might be going through that.’”

As noted in the interview, Weezy's upcoming album will be his first project not to carry a Cash Money logo. Carter V will be released by Young Money, which Wayne is now the sole owner of.

As fans know, it was Wayne's relationship with Cash Money, and specifically, Birdman, that caused the album's delay. Earlier this year, Wayne was reportedly awarded "well over $10 million" in his suit against Birdman and Cash Money Records. The settlement followed the rappers' three-year legal battle with his former best friend and business associate. In 2015, Wayne sued Cash Money for $51 million, claiming the record label violated his contract, withholding his money after delaying Tha Carter V several times.

On Wednesday (September 12), Young Money released the cover art for Wayne's highly anticipated album. "🖐 Put them 5s up ‼️‼️‼️" the record label's official Twitter account captioned a photo of the rapper's palm with words "The World" written upside down on it.

Tha Carter V is rumored to drop on September 21.
