Finally, the XXL 11th Annual Freshmen Issue list is finally out and final. The list consists of nine artist that are heating up in the music industry. Now, you're entitled to your own opinion about the nine people chosen by XXL, but here it is:
Ski Mask The Slump God // Lil Pimp // Smokepurpp // J.I.D // Stefflon Don // Blocboy JB // YBN Nahmir // WifisFuneral // Trippie Redd
Now just because they're freshmen doesn't mean they're not big name artist. Some of these artists have platinum songs and hit records. Whether you agree or not, these artists are arguably the future of hip-hop according to XXL.
Now me personally, I don't have a problem with this list. I would like to see more artist get the shine too, but everyone on the list I believe deserves it. I have the majority of these artists in my music library right now. This goes to show the direction we are headed in as far as letting people express themselves with their style. Lil Pump has purple hair, Trippie Redd has red hair, and most of them have facial tattoos. I ain't mad!
