Over the past year, North Carolina rapper Toosii has taken his fans on a journey through his music, through the trials and tribulations of love on his “Platnium Heart” & “Poetic Pain” projects to reflecting on his newfound fame and what it took to get here on his latest project “Thank You For Believing”.
Stopping by On The Radar “Virtually” the rapper spoke about the journey he has been on with these projects, why let his fans into his personal life now, remembering king von, showing love to Lil Durk, his love for Billie Eilish + MORE!
With this project, Toosii is really letting his fans into the deep and personal parts of his life, from being homeless at one point to losing loved ones he really is letting fans into his personal life more than ever before. Explaining why he felt like now is the time to take these steps Toosii expressed that he wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for his fans so what better time than now to make this project.
“Because if it wasn’t for my fans I wouldn’t be here, you know they helped me get to where I am today, they played a big role in this journey so what better project to talk about my journey, what better project to name thank you for believing”
Some may not realize this but Toosii has a deep love and appreciation for Billie Eilish. Upon the announcement of her new album, the rapper explained how no one is more excited for it than he is, and if he ever meets her he would pass out.
“me and my girlfriend we don’t play about Billie Eilish, we got Billie Eilish T-shirts, when you see us pop out with them T-shirts you gone see us, man. I never got to meet her but id prob pass out bro, I been lobing Billie Eilish for almost 3 years now. A collab between us, oh my god it would sound like "Ocean Eyes" mixed with "Greater Storm" off the project”
When it comes to putting people on few people show love to the next up the way Lil Durk does. Expressing how much he looks up to the Chicago rapper as a big brother in the industry and for what he’s done for his career Toosii shared with us that Durk was actually the FIRST person to ever bring him out at a show.
“With Durk, Durk has been real since the day I met him like Durk was the first person to ever bring me out to a show, to ever bring me out on stage, I really look at him like big bruh, he’s really one of the people I look up to in the rap game”
