At the end of 2019, we got the first of what is hopefully many Jackboys releases, which Travis Scott rolled out with a short film of him and the Jackboys. It was there that fans of the rapper and his sneaker collaborations got the first peak to his highly anticipated Nike Dunks collab.
The dunks feature a unique patchwork, plaid side pattern, and rope laces that make these dunks truly one of a kind, and pay homage to the skateboarding scene that these shoes represent. And on February 22nd, the shoes received a shock-drop from Scott himself, with a limited edition box matching the aesthetic of the shoe. He began promoting the drop on Instagram early that Saturday morning as an exclusive on his online shop.
The entire afternoon was dominated by visuals of Trav and some skaters of the likes of Alex Midler, Otis Beasly, and others skating around in the rapper's unreleased dunks, Travis with cameras in hand.
Now, it recently became revealed following the shock-drop that the dunks would not be receiving a SNKRS draw, as his past releases had before, and for good reason.
Nike announced that instead, these dunks would be coming out at select retailers, primarily local skate shops. With a rumored launch of February 29th, many retailers have announced raffles for the shoes that people need to buy in stores and cannot be purchased online.
In the tweet from Nike, the sneaker conglomerate listed, by state, where sneakerheads and fans alike can get the shoes. For those in the tri-state area, you can find the Travis dunks at places like Underground Skateshop, NJ Skateshops, CONCEPTS (NYC), and many other locations. Some of these locations even offer incentives like extra entries if you shop at their stores.
You can find the full list right here. If you're really feenin' for these new Travs, happy shopping and good luck!
