Eminem’s father, Marshall Bruce Mathers, died this past week near Fort Wayne, Michigan after he suffered a heart attack at his home.
Throughout Eminem’s career he has talked in numerous tracks that his dad abandoned him; tracks like “My Name Is” and “Cleanin’ Out My Closet” reflect that.
In 2001, Bruce went to a newspaper and published his side of the story via long letter claiming Eminem’s mother kept him away. Even after it was published Eminem never reconciled with his father.
