Three 6 Mafia's, DJ Paul has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Travis Scott for copyright infringement.
According to TMZ, Dj Paul is accusing Travis Scott of stealing a portion of the hook of his 1997 track "Tear The Club Up", which Travis included in his "No Bystanders" track featured on his recent Astroworld album. A report from The Blast states that Dj Paul claims that the hooks to both songs are "virtually identical and shrinkingly similar". The lawsuit also states that Travis Scott changed the lyrics from "F**k da club up" to "Tare da club up" during his his performance at the Grammys this passed February without DJ Paul's permission.
DJ Paul is asking for at least $20 Million in damages. Although TMZ reports that Travis reached out to DJ Paul on Tuesday (April 23) in efforts to potentially settle the legal case.
It may seem that this year has been off to a bad start for Travis as he's already faced many lawsuits. Just last week it was reported that the rapper was being sued for $400,000 for pulling out of a Super Bowl party.
Hopefully this doesn't turn out too bad for Travis!
