According to the Daily Mail, Joseph Molohon, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, offered to use the social security money he had just picked up on March 1 to help two men at the Texas Chicken & Burgers in Brooklyn, New York, when they were short of cash.
But an argument broke out, and Molohon was punched, kicked, and struck with his own cane by a group of four before another man rifled through his pockets while he was lying on the ground.
Kariem Roberts, 21, turned himself in on Thursday and was charged with robbery, gang assault and menacing. Police are still searching for the other suspects.
