Jada Pinket-Smith, actress and wife of Will Smith, showed the world that she has been dealing with severe hair loss as a result of alopecia.
In a candid Instagram video, Jada had no shame in revealing her bald head, which also had a large scar on her scalp. She first shared her hair loss struggles on her Red Table talk show, and even showed herself getting a buzz cut, but now she’s completely bald.
What Is Alopecia? Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder that causes your hair to come out, often in clumps the size and shape of a quarter. The amount of hair loss is different in everyone. Some people lose it only in a few spots.
