Kanye West Can't Run For President In 6 States Including NY

Over the weekend Kanye West announced that he would be running for President on twitter. While he's been talking about running for President for some time now in the past he said he would be waiting till 2024 waiting for Trumps second term (if he wins) to be over.

"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION" - Kanye West

Now while Kanye has his sights set on the White House he may have also backed himself into a corner as he will not be allowed on the ballot in six states. The reason for this according to Business Insider is because the deadline to run as an independent candidate has already passed in these states including New York, Maine, North Carolina, Indiana, Texas, and New Mexico. As for those who want to vote for Kanye in these states, they still technically could vote via a write-in ballot, however there are rules in place for that as well that might make it difficult for the rapper.
