New York May Start Fining (Up To $250) For Texting While Walking

Well it looks like texting while walking could start costing you up to $250 dollars (if your caught of course)

There is a new bill that is currently being introduced to the New York State senate, in which if passed pedestrians who are caught texting while crossing the street could be fined anywhere from $25 to $250! According to the bill if a cop catches you with “using a portable electronic device while crossing a roadway”. However there are some exceptions to the rule such as if you are a hospital or a emergency responder you will not get a ticket.
