A combination of snow and freezing rain across the tri-state area Sunday night and Monday morning caused dozens of car crashes, according to NBC 4 New York. The storm caused icy roads that resulted in two crashes of 20 cars or more and one deadly crash.

NBC 4 New York reports that two people were killed in a crash in New Jersey when a car slid off Rt. 78 in Hunterdon County. The icy conditions also caused a 24-car pileup on the Bronx River Parkway and a 20-car crash on Interstate 95.

North and West of NYC saw a slushy accumulation of 1 to 3 inches while as many as 8 inches of snow fell in Toms River, NJ. While the temperature is supposed to rise by Monday night, another storm could provide minor accumulation on Tuesday.
