An oil spill in Northern New Jersey have reached the Rockaway River and is affecting two miles of the water.

A truck carrying fuel to gas stations spilled its load, and with recent heavy rains, that spilled oil made its way into the Rockaway River.

Authorities in Morris County are currently working to clean up the spill. The Department of Environmental Protection is overseeing the incident, and absorbent materials have been distributed in the affect parts of the river to take in the oil.
