New York City is expecting just a coating to an inch of snow, while bigger accumulations could fall further south.

That's quite a change from just a few days ago when the five boroughs were forecast to get several inches, if not a foot of snow.  But the storm has been pushed further south with a few inches of snow still expected below Monmouth County.

New Jersey is under a state of emergency and many schools in the state have a delayed opening or are closed.

The worst of the storm could actually hit the Maryland and Washington D.C. area.  That area of the country could get 8 inches of snow.

Even though New York City escaped the snow, the cold weather remains.  Temperatures will remain in the mid 20's today and won't reach the 40's until later in the week.
