Jared Bedard, 16, of Massachusetts worked for months to raise money for CURE/ART, a charity for childhood cancer, by singing at local restaurants and asking for donations.
Jared, who has Down Syndrome, was driven by hopes of raising enough money to win a meet-and-greet with his idol Justin Bieber.
However, when Jared finally got the chance to meet Bieber, he was surrounded by screaming girls and brushed off by the singer. Although Jared’s mother doesn’t necessarily blame Justin, she was disappointed by Bieber’s failure to recognize her son’s efforts.
Despite the meet-and-greet fiasco, she says that they still had a great time at the concert and are happy to have raised money for such a good cause.
